Seattle › Airport Hotels
Updated: July 12, 2026 • by Seattle Dave
I live in Seattle and have used Sea-Tac Airport countless times. My favorite airport hotel is Cedarbrook Lodge. It is easily the nicest hotel near the airport and feels nothing like a typical airport hotel. For the shortest and simplest walk to the terminal, stay at the Radisson. For a reliable hotel with free breakfast, free parking, and a 24-hour shuttle, I like the Coast Gateway.
Airport hotels are useful for early flights, late arrivals, missed connections, overnight layovers, rental-car pickups, and inexpensive pre-cruise nights. They are not a good base for sightseeing. If you have a full day or longer in Seattle, stay downtown near Pike Place Market instead.

Sea-Tac Airport and the airport hotel district along International Boulevard. The Hilton, Marriott, and Radisson are visible across from the terminal.

Should You Stay Near Sea-Tac Airport or in Downtown Seattle?
Stay near the airport when:
- Your flight leaves before about 8:00 am.
- You arrive late at night and only need a place to sleep.
- You have an overnight layover or a missed connection.
- You are picking up or returning a rental car and leaving the Seattle area immediately.
- You arrive late the night before a cruise and downtown hotel prices are much higher.
- You need inexpensive parking while you are away and find a good park-and-fly package.
Stay downtown when:
- You have a full day or more for sightseeing.
- You want to walk to Pike Place Market, the waterfront, restaurants, shops, museums, or stadiums.
- You are spending the night before a cruise and arrive early enough to enjoy Seattle.
- You are visiting without a car.
- You want your hotel to feel like part of the trip rather than a logistical stop.
I would not stay at Sea-Tac for several nights and commute downtown each day. The airport area is a long strip of hotels, parking lots, rental-car facilities, and busy roads. Link light rail makes downtown reachable, but the round trip takes a substantial part of the day once you include walking and waiting.
For most first-time visitors, a downtown hotel is far more convenient. The airport hotel district is for flights, not Seattle sightseeing.
7 Things to Know About Sea-Tac Airport Hotels
1. There Are No Hotels Inside the Airport Terminal
Sea-Tac does not have an airside hotel or a hotel physically attached to the terminal. Even the closest hotels require either a short walk outside or a shuttle ride. The Radisson is the simplest walk. It is across International Boulevard from the terminal area and is about five to ten minutes on foot, depending on where you start and how much luggage you have.
2. A Hotel Shuttle Is Not Always Faster Than Walking
A shuttle sounds easier, but you have to reach the pickup area, call or wait for the van, load your luggage, and sometimes stop at another hotel entrance. For the Radisson, Skybridge, and Hilton, walking can be faster when the weather is decent and you have manageable luggage. Use the shuttle when you have children, heavy suitcases, mobility concerns, or bad weather.
3. Hotel Shuttles Pick Up in the Parking Garage
Hotel and off-site courtesy shuttles pick up on the third floor of the airport parking garage. Follow airport signs for hotel courtesy vehicles and courtesy shuttles. Do not wait outside baggage claim unless the hotel specifically tells you to do so. That is where many travelers lose time.

Hotel courtesy shuttles pick up from designated islands on the third floor of the Sea-Tac Airport parking garage. Follow the airport signs rather than waiting outside baggage claim.
4. Confirm Shuttle Hours Before Booking
Many airport hotels advertise a free airport shuttle, but schedules and procedures vary. Some run continuously, some depart every 20 or 30 minutes, and others require a phone call after you collect your luggage. For a very early flight or a late arrival, confirm that the shuttle operates at the time you need it. I would do this before the free-cancellation deadline, not after arriving at the airport.
5. Light Rail Access Varies More Than It Appears on a Map
The SeaTac/Airport Link station is connected to the airport parking garage by a covered pedestrian walkway. The walk between the terminal and train platform is longer than many travelers expect, but straightforward. The Skybridge, Hilton, and Radisson have the most useful access to both the terminal and the station. Hotels farther south may look close to light rail but are not convenient to the airport station on foot. Some are nearer Angle Lake Station, but that does not make them good bases for daily sightseeing.
6. International Boulevard Is Walkable but Not Pleasant
There are sidewalks and marked crossings around the airport, but International Boulevard is a wide, busy road. Walking works for reaching a nearby hotel or restaurant. It is not an attractive neighborhood for strolling. Pay attention at crossings, especially after dark, and use a shuttle when hauling large suitcases.
7. Parking Is Not Automatically Free
Some airport hotels include overnight parking, while others charge substantial daily fees. Leaving a car at the hotel during your trip normally requires a specific park-and-fly package. Do not assume that booking one hotel night gives you a week of free parking. Compare the full package price with independent airport parking before deciding.

The 13 Best Hotels Near Seattle Airport

Cedarbrook Lodge is the best hotel near Sea-Tac Airport. It is about five minutes from the terminal by free shuttle but feels removed from the airport hotel strip.
1. Cedarbrook Lodge
Best airport hotel overall.
Cedarbrook Lodge is the only airport hotel I would recommend as a destination in its own right. It sits on a landscaped property surrounded by wetlands and trees, with a quiet Northwest-lodge atmosphere that feels far removed from International Boulevard. Rooms are comfortable, common areas are inviting, and Copperleaf is one of the best restaurants near Sea-Tac. The hotel also has a spa, fitness center, outdoor hot tub, and attractive grounds. The free airport shuttle is the right way to get here. It is possible to walk from the terminal in roughly 20 minutes, but the route is not especially intuitive and is not worth doing with luggage.
Best for: Couples, long layovers, a comfortable first or final night, nervous flyers who want a calm evening, and travelers willing to pay more for a noticeably better hotel.
Families: Good for families who prioritize comfort and quiet, though there is no swimming pool and it is not the cheapest option.
Light rail: The shuttle can take guests to the airport station. Do not choose Cedarbrook because you plan to walk to the train.
Parking and rental cars: On-site parking is available for a fee, and park-and-fly packages can be useful. The separate airport rental-car facility is a short drive away.
When downtown is better: Stay downtown when you have time to sightsee. Cedarbrook is a wonderful airport hotel, but it is still isolated from central Seattle.
2. Radisson Hotel Seattle Airport
Best for walking to the terminal.
The Radisson has the best combination of terminal proximity and useful amenities. It is directly across International Boulevard from the airport area and is the easiest hotel to reach on foot. Rooms are contemporary and quieter than the location suggests. There is an indoor pool, fitness center, restaurant, airport shuttle, and paid parking. For a one-night layover, late arrival, or early departure, the location is hard to beat. Travelers with light luggage can often walk faster than waiting for the shuttle.
Best for: Short overnight stays, early flights, late arrivals, solo travelers, and anyone who wants the least complicated airport access.
Families: The indoor pool is helpful, though families needing suites or larger room layouts may prefer the DoubleTree or Hampton Inn.
Light rail: Good. The SeaTac/Airport station is reachable through the same general pedestrian route used for the airport terminal.
Parking and rental cars: Paid hotel parking is available. It is also convenient for travelers collecting a rental car the next morning, though the rental-car facility requires a separate airport shuttle.
When downtown is better: Almost always, unless airport proximity is the main purpose of the stay.
3. Coast Gateway Hotel
Best combination of shuttle, breakfast, parking, and convenience.
Coast Gateway is not as polished as Cedarbrook, but it is one of the most practical airport hotels. It has a free 24-hour shuttle, free hot breakfast, free overnight parking, pet-friendly rooms, and an on-site restaurant. The hotel sits close to the airport runway, but soundproofing is good. Sharps Roasthouse next door is useful for dinner or a drink when you do not want to go anywhere after checking in. This is one of my favorite recommendations for travelers with a predawn departure. You are not paying for luxury, but the hotel handles the basic airport logistics well.
Best for: Early flights, late arrivals, park-and-fly stays, pet owners, and travelers who want breakfast included.
Families: Good for a straightforward overnight stay, though there is no pool.
Light rail: Possible but not especially convenient on foot. Take the hotel shuttle to the terminal and use the airport station from there.
Parking and rental cars: Especially useful for travelers driving to Sea-Tac. Standard overnight parking is included, and longer park-and-fly packages are available.
When downtown is better: Choose downtown for any visit centered on sightseeing, restaurants, or the waterfront.
4. Skybridge Seattle Airport Hotel
Best airport hotel near Link light rail.
Skybridge is directly across International Boulevard from the pedestrian skybridge serving the SeaTac/Airport station and airport parking garage. It is one of the most convenient choices for travelers who want both airport access and light rail. The hotel has a restaurant and bar, fitness center, gated paid parking, and a complimentary airport shuttle. Rooms have a modern business-hotel feel. This property was formerly the Crowne Plaza Seattle Airport and is scheduled to become an AC Hotel by Marriott.
Best for: Early flights, business travelers, light-rail users, and travelers who want to avoid relying entirely on a hotel shuttle.
Families: Fine for a one-night stay, but not my first choice for family space or kid-focused amenities.
Light rail: Excellent. This is the best reason to choose the hotel.
Parking and rental cars: Secure on-site parking is available for a fee. The hotel is convenient before or after collecting a rental car, but it is not at the rental-car facility.
When downtown is better: Stay downtown rather than using the train back and forth for sightseeing.
5. Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center
Best full-service hotel near the airport station.
The Hilton is one of the largest and most established hotels beside the airport. It has a restaurant, heated outdoor pool, fitness center, meeting facilities, landscaped courtyards, and secure paid parking. The hotel is across International Boulevard from the airport station and pedestrian skybridge. It is not inside or directly connected to the terminal, but the walk is manageable and a complimentary shuttle is available. The property is spread across several buildings, so some rooms can be a longer walk from the lobby than expected. This matters when traveling with children or several suitcases.
Best for: Business travel, conferences, Hilton members, light-rail access, and travelers who want more facilities than a basic airport hotel.
Families: The outdoor pool is useful during warmer months. Request a conveniently located room if traveling with young children.
Light rail: Very good. The station entrance is across the road near the pedestrian skybridge.
Parking and rental cars: Secure covered parking is available but expensive. The hotel works well before picking up a rental car the following morning.
When downtown is better: A downtown Hilton-area alternative is better when Seattle itself is the focus of the stay.
6. Hilton Garden Inn Seattle Airport
Best modern airport hotel with an indoor pool.
The Hilton Garden Inn is newer and more polished than many hotels along the airport strip. It has an indoor pool, restaurant and bar, fitness center, guest laundry, mini-market, and complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle. The hotel is north of the main terminal area. It is close enough for a short shuttle ride but not close enough that I would recommend walking with luggage.
Best for: Families, Hilton members, late arrivals, early flights, and travelers who want a modern room and an indoor pool.
Families: One of the better options. The pool, laundry room, restaurant, and mini-market make a one-night family stop easier.
Light rail: The hotel shuttle serves the airport and light-rail station. That is more practical than walking.
Parking and rental cars: On-site parking is available for a fee. The location north of the terminal provides reasonably straightforward access to the rental-car facility.
When downtown is better: Choose a family hotel in central Seattle when you have time for sightseeing.
7. Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle-Airport/28th Avenue
Best for families wanting free breakfast.
The Hampton Inn is a reliable choice south of the terminal, with spacious rooms, connecting-room options, free hot breakfast, fitness center, guest laundry, and complimentary airport shuttle. The location is less convenient for walking to the terminal or light rail, but the hotel works well for families who value breakfast and larger rooms more than immediate airport proximity.
Best for: Families, groups, early flights, and Hilton members looking for a predictable mid-range stay.
Families: Very good. Suites, connecting rooms, cribs, free breakfast, and laundry facilities are all useful.
Light rail: Do not walk to the airport station. Use the hotel shuttle and continue to the train from the terminal.
Parking and rental cars: A practical choice for drivers, though parking terms should be checked when booking. It is relatively convenient to the rental-car facility.
When downtown is better: Stay downtown if the family has even one full sightseeing day. The time spent commuting quickly outweighs the airport-hotel savings.
8. DoubleTree by Hilton Seattle Airport
Best for large families and groups.
The DoubleTree is a huge hotel complex south of the airport. Rooms tend to be larger than average, and some family configurations sleep up to six. The hotel has a seasonal outdoor pool, hot tub, restaurants, mini-market, fitness centers, paid parking, and a complimentary airport shuttle. The size is both the advantage and the drawback. It can accommodate families and groups well, but reaching your room may involve a long walk through the property. Request a room near the lobby or elevators when mobility is an issue.
Best for: Families needing extra sleeping capacity, groups, conventions, and travelers who want a full-service property.
Families: One of the best airport choices for larger groups. Confirm the exact bed arrangement rather than relying only on the listed maximum occupancy.
Light rail: The hotel is relatively close to Angle Lake Station, but most airport travelers will find the shuttle more useful. I would not choose it solely for sightseeing by train.
Parking and rental cars: Paid parking is available, and the hotel is reasonably convenient to the rental-car facility.
When downtown is better: Downtown is much better for a family vacation. Use the DoubleTree as a flight-night hotel.
9. Seattle Airport Marriott
Best for Marriott members and airport conferences.
The Marriott is a large, full-service airport hotel built around a bright interior atrium. It has a restaurant, cafe, fitness center, meeting facilities, paid parking, and complimentary airport transportation. Rooms are comfortable and the public spaces are more substantial than at most nearby hotels. The property works especially well for business travelers attending an event at the hotel. It is close to the airport but not as easy to walk from the terminal as the Radisson, Skybridge, or Hilton. Use the shuttle with luggage.
Best for: Marriott members, meetings, business travelers, and travelers who prefer a large full-service hotel.
Families: Comfortable, but breakfast and parking cost extra, and other airport hotels offer more family-oriented value.
Light rail: Possible through the airport station, but taking the shuttle to the terminal is easier than walking.
Parking and rental cars: Paid on-site parking is available. The hotel is convenient for an overnight stay before a rental-car road trip.
When downtown is better: Choose a downtown Marriott-family hotel when you want restaurants and attractions outside the front door.
10. Aloft Seattle Sea-Tac Airport
Best casual and contemporary airport hotel.
Aloft has a younger, less traditional feel than most Sea-Tac hotels. The lobby has a cocktail bar, billiards, games, and open social space. Rooms are compact and modern, and the hotel is pet-friendly. The hotel provides airport transportation and has on-site parking. It is south of the terminal, so this is not a realistic walking hotel.
Best for: Couples, solo travelers, pet owners, and Marriott members who prefer contemporary design.
Families: Fine for families with older children, but room layouts are less flexible than at the Hampton Inn or DoubleTree.
Light rail: Use the airport shuttle rather than trying to reach the airport station on foot.
Parking and rental cars: One of the more convenient locations for reaching the rental-car facility by road.
When downtown is better: Downtown has far better nightlife, dining, and walkability. Aloft is useful for one airport night.
11. Country Inn & Suites by Radisson
Best straightforward value hotel south of the airport.
Country Inn & Suites has comfortable rooms, free breakfast, guest laundry, fitness facilities, parking, and airport transportation. It is near Angle Lake Park and Angle Lake Station, though the surrounding area remains suburban and airport-oriented. The hotel is a good value when rates at the closer airport properties are high.
Best for: Budget-conscious families, breakfast-inclusive stays, and travelers with a car.
Families: Good. Breakfast and laundry facilities add practical value.
Light rail: Angle Lake Station is more useful than the airport station from this location, but the train ride into downtown is still lengthy.
Parking and rental cars: Practical for drivers and relatively close to the rental-car facility.
When downtown is better: Stay downtown unless the savings are substantial or flight logistics are the priority.
12. La Quinta by Wyndham Seattle Sea-Tac Airport
Best budget option for pets and larger vehicles.
La Quinta is an older, basic airport hotel with free breakfast, airport transportation, fitness facilities, guest laundry, and pet-friendly rooms. Some suites can accommodate larger families. It is not a hotel I would choose for atmosphere, but it can be useful when price, parking, or pet policies matter more than style.
Best for: Budget stays, pet owners, road trips, and travelers needing parking for a larger vehicle.
Families: Some room layouts sleep up to five. Confirm the actual beds and current pool status before booking.
Light rail: Use the hotel shuttle to the airport rather than walking to the station.
Parking and rental cars: A practical location for drivers, RVs, buses, and travelers heading to the rental-car facility.
When downtown is better: Any time sightseeing is more important than the lowest airport-area rate.
13. Ramada by Wyndham SeaTac Airport
Best only when the rate is substantially lower.
The Ramada is a basic, older hotel north of the main airport entrance. Rooms are spacious but dated, and amenities are limited compared with the better hotels on this list. It can make sense for a short overnight stay when prices elsewhere are high. I would compare it carefully with the Coast Gateway, Country Inn, La Quinta, and Hampton Inn before booking.
Best for: A low-cost one-night stay when convenience matters more than hotel quality.
Families: Some rooms accommodate larger groups, but this would not be my first family choice.
Light rail: Not convenient enough to make it a good sightseeing base.
Parking and rental cars: Useful location for airport and rental-car logistics. Confirm parking and shuttle details before arrival.
When downtown is better: Downtown is better for virtually everything except price and immediate airport access.
Best Sea-Tac Airport Hotels for Early Flights
For an early flight, I prioritize a dependable overnight operation over pools, restaurants, or stylish rooms.
My top choices are:
- Coast Gateway: Free 24-hour shuttle, breakfast, and easy airport logistics.
- Radisson: Close enough to walk if a shuttle is delayed or full.
- Skybridge: Short airport transfer and a practical location across from the pedestrian skybridge.
- Hilton Garden Inn: Modern rooms and a complimentary 24-hour shuttle.
For flights departing before 7:00 am, ask the hotel exactly when you should be in the lobby. The shuttle ride itself may be short, but loading passengers and luggage takes time. Sea-Tac security lines can vary enormously. An airport hotel reduces the risk of freeway traffic, but it does not eliminate the need to arrive early.
Best Sea-Tac Airport Hotels for Late Arrivals
After a late flight, the main goal is getting into a room with as little friction as possible.
The Radisson is my first choice because you have the option to walk. The Coast Gateway and Hilton Garden Inn are good alternatives with 24-hour airport transportation.
For arrivals after midnight, call the hotel before flying to confirm the pickup procedure. Some hotels require you to telephone after collecting your bags rather than waiting for a continuously circulating shuttle. I would not take light rail downtown after a very late arrival simply to save money. Service is less frequent late at night, and the walk from a downtown station to your hotel can be unpleasant with luggage. Stay near the airport or take a taxi or rideshare directly to your downtown hotel.
Best Sea-Tac Airport Hotels for Families
My favorite airport hotels for families are:
- DoubleTree: Best for larger rooms, groups, and families needing space for up to six.
- Hampton Inn & Suites: Best for free breakfast, connecting rooms, and a predictable family stay.
- Hilton Garden Inn: Best modern hotel with an indoor pool.
- Radisson: Best when minimizing transfers is more important than having a suite.
Always check the bed configuration. A room listed for five or six guests may include a sofa bed rather than enough standard beds. For a Seattle family vacation, do not stay near the airport to save a little money. A central hotel makes it far easier to return for naps, change clothes, or take a break from rain. See my guide to the best family hotels in Seattle.
Sea-Tac Airport Hotels and Link Light Rail
The best airport hotels for reaching Link light rail are the Skybridge, Hilton, and Radisson.
Link is useful when:
- You have several hours between flights and want to visit downtown.
- You are continuing to a hotel near Westlake, Symphony, Pioneer Square, or International District/Chinatown Station.
- You are traveling alone or as a couple with manageable luggage.
- Freeway traffic is heavy and predictable travel time matters more than door-to-door convenience.
Link is less useful when:
- You have young children, several suitcases, or mobility limitations.
- Your downtown hotel is several steep blocks from a station.
- You are traveling very early or very late.
- You are going directly to Pier 66 or Pier 91 with cruise luggage.
The airport station is not directly inside baggage claim. From the terminal, you walk through the parking garage using a covered pedestrian route. Read my full Sea-Tac Airport to Downtown guide before deciding between the train, taxi, and rideshare.
Sea-Tac Airport Hotels Before or After a Cruise
An airport hotel can be a smart choice when you arrive late on the night before an Alaska cruise. Airport hotels are cheaper than central Seattle hotels, and you avoid paying downtown prices for a night when you will do little more than sleep. The next morning, take a taxi or rideshare directly to the terminal. This is easier than taking light rail downtown and transferring with cruise luggage.
Seattle has two main cruise terminals:
- Pier 66: On the downtown waterfront near Pike Place Market and Belltown.
- Pier 91: At Smith Cove, northwest of Seattle Center and not served directly by light rail.
Allow substantial extra time for a Pier 91 transfer on a busy cruise morning. Traffic can build around the terminal, and several ships may be processing passengers. Staying at the airport is not my first choice when you arrive by mid-afternoon. In that situation, spend the night at a Seattle cruise hotel, have dinner downtown, see Pike Place Market, and take a short taxi to the ship the next morning.
For Pier 66, the Edgewater and Seattle Marriott Waterfront are much more convenient than any airport hotel.
Sea-Tac Airport Hotel and Rental-Car Logistics
All major airport rental-car companies operate from a separate consolidated rental-car facility rather than inside the terminal. Free rental-car shuttle buses run between the terminal and rental-car facility. Pickup areas are outside baggage claim near the north and south ends of the terminal. These are separate from the hotel courtesy-shuttle pickup area in the parking garage. The rental-car shuttle ride is short, but waiting, loading luggage, and completing paperwork add time.
My advice:
- Arriving late: Stay at an airport hotel and collect the car the next morning. This avoids paying for a rental car while it sits overnight and makes the first drive easier.
- Returning a car before an early flight: Stay near the airport, return the car in the evening, take the rental-car shuttle to the terminal, and then use the hotel shuttle.
- Starting with time in downtown Seattle: Do not rent the car at the start of the trip. Stay downtown without a car, then return to the airport or another rental location when you are ready to leave Seattle.
- Ending with time in downtown Seattle: Return the car before checking into your downtown hotel. Parking is expensive and you will not need a car for central sightseeing.
A rental car is more of a burden than a benefit in central Seattle. Read my guide to visiting Seattle without a car.
The 3 Best Airport Hotels Near Southcenter Shopping
Southcenter is in Tukwila, about ten minutes east of Sea-Tac Airport when traffic is light. It is a better area than the airport strip for shopping, chain restaurants, movies, and filling several hours during a long layover. It is not a substitute for downtown Seattle. Choose Southcenter when you want practical entertainment near the airport, not when you want Pike Place Market or waterfront sightseeing.
Hotel Interurban
Best Southcenter hotel overall.
Hotel Interurban is a tall, modern hotel within walking distance of Westfield Southcenter Mall. It has an indoor pool, restaurant, cafe, fitness center, and paid parking. This is the most polished hotel near Southcenter and a good alternative to the airport strip for a longer layover. Confirm current airport transportation arrangements before booking, especially for an early or late flight.
Best for: Shopping, restaurants, an indoor pool, and travelers who want more to do near the airport.
Families: Very good. The pool, mall, movie theater, and nearby restaurants make downtime easier.
When downtown is better: Stay downtown when you want to see Seattle rather than a suburban shopping district.
DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Seattle Airport/Southcenter
Best Southcenter hotel for families needing a suite.
This all-suite hotel has separate sleeping and living areas, an indoor pool, restaurant, fitness center, and easy access to Westfield Southcenter. The extra room is useful for families, especially when children go to bed earlier than adults. Confirm the airport shuttle schedule before relying on it for a very early departure.
Best for: Families, longer layovers, separate living space, and shopping.
Light rail: Not convenient for downtown sightseeing. Tukwila International Boulevard Station requires another transfer or ride.
When downtown is better: Downtown is much better for a family spending more than one night in Seattle.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Seattle Airport
Best Southcenter hotel with kitchens.
Home2 Suites has studios and suites with kitchen facilities, flexible living space, free breakfast, an indoor saline pool, fitness center, outdoor grills, and guest laundry. It is a good fit for families, longer stays, and travelers with dietary needs. The location is near Southcenter Square and a longer walk from the main enclosed mall.
Best for: Kitchens, longer stays, families, and free breakfast.
Rental cars: More practical with a car than for travelers depending entirely on walking.
When downtown is better: Choose downtown for a normal Seattle visit. Choose Home2 Suites for airport logistics or a suburban stay with a kitchen.
Seattle Airport Hotels FAQ
What is the closest hotel to Sea-Tac Airport?
The Radisson Hotel Seattle Airport is the closest practical hotel for most travelers. It is across International Boulevard and a five-to-ten-minute walk from the terminal area.
Is there a hotel inside Sea-Tac Airport?
No. Sea-Tac Airport does not have a hotel inside the terminal or beyond security.
Which Sea-Tac hotels can I walk to?
The Radisson is the easiest. The Skybridge and Hilton are also walkable using the pedestrian routes near the airport station and parking garage. Walking times depend on your terminal location, luggage, weather, and construction around the station.
Do Sea-Tac airport hotels have free shuttles?
Most of the hotels recommended on this page provide complimentary airport transportation, but schedules and pickup procedures vary. Always confirm the hours directly with the hotel, especially for a late-night arrival or early-morning flight.
Where do hotel shuttles pick up at Sea-Tac Airport?
Hotel courtesy shuttles pick up from designated islands on the third floor of the airport parking garage. Follow signs for courtesy vehicles and hotel shuttles.
Can I take light rail from an airport hotel to Downtown Seattle?
Yes. The Skybridge, Hilton, and Radisson provide the easiest access to SeaTac/Airport Station. Hotels farther along International Boulevard require a hotel shuttle, bus, or additional walk to reach a station.
How long does light rail take from Sea-Tac Airport to Downtown Seattle?
The train ride to central downtown is roughly 35 to 40 minutes. Allow additional time to walk from the terminal or hotel to the platform, wait for the train, and reach your downtown hotel from the station.
Should I stay near the airport before a cruise?
Stay near the airport when your flight arrives late and you will go directly to the ship the next morning. Stay downtown when you arrive early enough to enjoy Seattle. A downtown stay makes the pre-cruise night part of the vacation.
Can I take light rail directly to the Seattle cruise terminals?
No. Link light rail does not go directly to Pier 66 or Pier 91. Pier 66 requires a transfer to a taxi, rideshare, bus, or substantial downhill walk. Pier 91 requires a taxi, rideshare, shuttle, or bus connection.
Should I pick up my rental car immediately after a late flight?
Usually not. I prefer staying at an airport hotel and collecting the car the next morning. You avoid driving tired, save one day of rental charges, and begin the trip in daylight.
Are Sea-Tac airport hotels safe?
The main airport hotel area is busy, commercial, and heavily traveled. I am comfortable using the better hotels listed here, but I would not wander far along International Boulevard late at night. Use marked crossings, stay aware of traffic, and take the shuttle when carrying luggage.
Are airport hotels cheaper than Downtown Seattle hotels?
Often, especially during summer cruise season, major events, and busy weekends. Compare the total cost, including parking, breakfast, transportation, and the time required to travel downtown. A cheaper airport room is not necessarily better value when you spend several hours commuting during a short Seattle visit.
